We are a medium-sized wing chun school with around 10-30 students at any one time (But growing all the time). We are based in Colne, Lancashire right at the end of the M65 motorway giving you easy access to our school from far and wide, also within 10 minutes drive from surrounding towns: Nelson, Barrowford, Brierfield, Padiham, Burnley, Whalley, and Barnoldswick.

At ELWC we teach a well-defined and well-structured wing chun and self-defense system to make sure you get the most out of your training and with all of our instructors being highly experienced and dedicated to your progression and vision. With over 80 years of experience just within our instructor group, we can cater for all your needs whether it be a highly structured Kung Fu system, Self-defence or to keep fit both mentally and physically.

What we do

Here at ELWC we study, practice, and teach Traditional Ip man Wing Chun as taught by Grandmaster Samuel Kwok and are proud to be affiliated too and a member of the Grandmaster Samuel Kwok Wing Chun Martial Arts Association which is a member of the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts -(BCCMA), the official Governing Body for Chinese Martial Arts in the UK and a member of the International Ving Tsun Athletic Association.

Set up and run by Sifu Steve Colton in 1983 East Lancashire Wing Chun Kung Fu is one of the longest running under the Master Samual Kwok banner and are proud to be affiliated too and a member of the Grandmaster Samuel Kwok Wing Chun Martial Arts Association which is a member of the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts -(BCCMA), the official Governing Body for Chinese Martial Arts in the UK and a member of the International Ving Tsun Athletic Association. We Keep very close contact with Master Kwok who regularly attends our club in Colne to do seminars and keep us fresh on ideas and techniques.

Steve takes great pride in his club and his students as their Wing Chun is a reflection of his own and Master Kwok's high standards, many of Steve's students have gone on to obtain instructor level themselves and the club have won numerous titles in Kung Fu competitions nationally over the past 20 years
